Ray Palousek is a pop, jazz, and R&B singer/songwriter and pianist from Holland, TX. Starting his career in music at age 15, Ray is a piano bar entertainer and works on a cruise ship for 10 months per year. He has performed on cruise ships around the world, as well as countless venues in TX. Ray’s upcoming projects are self-produced and recorded by his father, a fellow musician and Ray’s original inspiration to become an artist himself. He states, “I am the producer, but my father’s insight as both a musician and an engineer is incomparable.” Palousek is soon releasing his EP Colorblind, which deals with thematics such as grief, heartbreak, and even some more simple concepts, like the memories of playing drinking games with friends.
The artist also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from MTSU and, according to Ray, “My college education helped me create outside the box and gave me so many tools I still use creatively today.” With influences such as Michael Buble, Ray aspires to create a wide variety with his songs, writing about themes and topics involving personal experiences and relationships. Additionally, Ray claims “Emotionally, love is at the core of my music. My identity as a songwriter/artist is honest and vulnerable.”
Ray Palousek’s music is sonically forward-thinking, thoughtful, and full of lessons we could all learn from.
